The Challenge
The Pacific Valley Scottish Rite needed far more than a website. Their reunion registration was handled through paper forms and mailed checks, creating enormous administrative burden. Members had no way to track their degree progress online. The Valley's rich educational programming had no digital home, and years of scholarly content was trapped in filing cabinets. The existing website was a five-page brochure that conveyed none of the intellectual depth that defines the Scottish Rite experience.
The Solution
I designed and built a comprehensive digital platform that serves as both the Valley's public website and its operational backbone. The public site showcases the Scottish Rite's philosophy and educational mission with rich content pages for each body and degree. Behind the login, members access a personal dashboard showing their degree progress, reunion registration, and dues status. The reunion registration system handles multi-day events with session selection, meal choices, and secure payment processing. An educational library organizes decades of Valley papers, lectures, and resources into a searchable, categorized collection.
Outcome & Impact
Reunion registration moved fully online, eliminating paper forms and reducing check-in time from hours to minutes. The educational library now houses over 200 resources and has become a recruitment tool in its own right. Online dues payments increased collection rates, and the Valley reports stronger member engagement since launch.
